Grandma had a doctor appointment this morning and we all went with her. Then we went out to lunch and explored some antique shops in Myrtle Creek. I rode in the back seat of the van with grandma, and at one point I wanted in the front seat with mom, so grandma handed me up to mom. Unfortunately, mom didn’t have a good hold on me and she dropped me. I landed on the edge of a cardboard box and it hurt! I seemed to be ok though, so we went on with our day.

Mom decided to take me to the doctor today. I was happy to be going somewhere again, but not thrilled when I found out it included a stop at the doctor for me! The doctor was really nice though and gave mom some medicine to help me get over the injury to my back and leg. Nothing was broken, just strained, and it was discovered that I have a little bit of arthritis in my back and knee. Mom has to try to keep me from running for the next week (good luck to her), and also has to carry me up and down stairs during that time.

Today was a quiet day for all of us. We didn’t do much. Grandma and grandpa are going to be celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary this weekend. There will be a bar-b-que in Southern Oregon at mom’s brothers house. Her other brother and his wife flew in from Texas this morning for the shin-dig.
Mom and grandma went window shopping, but grandpa and I stayed home and I got a lot more attention. He let me sit in his lap and watch TV with him! He even gave me some extra treats (don’t tell mom!) I felt a little better today.

Mom and grandma did laundry today, and I got a bath . . . yuck! Mom said I was “filthy” and had to look my best for the party. Grandpa took pity on me and held me in a blanket on his lap until I got all warm and dry. Later in the evening grandpa helped mom fix some special potatoes to take down to the anniversary party. Other than that it was a quiet day.

Grandma, grandpa, mom, and I left early this morning for Diamond Lake. Mom, her two brothers, and her niece all pitched in and rented a patio boat so that we could all go on a cruise together on Diamond Lake. Grandpa’s sister came too! We had a big picnic lunch on the shore and then boarded the boat. Everyone on board had a life jacket, even me! It was great fun and I got lots of attention from everyone. The lake was beautiful and so were the mountains surrounding it.
After the cruise we all headed for mom’s brothers house, but stopped along the way for a Mexican dinner. Mom’s brothers house, my uncles house, was pretty full of people, so mom and I stayed nearby at a cousins house . . . the place where they had the big cats!

Today was the anniversary party celebrating grandma and grandpa’s 65th wedding anniversary! This morning grandma and grandpa, and their kids visiting from Texas, and mom went to the Butte Creek Mill in Eagle Point and also stopped at the local museum and farmers market. Butte Creek Mill is a still operating water wheel grist mill that produces all kinds of grains and flours the old fashioned way. It was interesting!
This afternoon the whole local family gathered at mom’s brothers house and he barbequed steaks for everyone. We all ate at tables in the back yard and had a really good time. Mom’s sister-in-law visiting from Texas baked an anniversary cake and decorated it. It was really pretty and tasted wonderful!

Today mostof the family went to the historical town of Jacksonville, but mom and I went to see the Oregon Caves. It took us several hours to get there, and then the last eight miles were very steep and crooked.
The cave tour was very popular and mom had to wait for several hours before her assigned tour group left. The tour took about an hour and a half and mom said it was really interesting. I didn’t get to go and had to wait in the car . . . again.
