Oregon Coast
We got to go to the coast one day, just a day trip. We went over to Bandon and looked around old town, saw some local sights, and then went down on the beach.
On the way over we stopped at this covered bridge.
It was built in 1921 and is known as the Sandy Creek Bridge.

Old town Bandon was a fun place to shop even though it was raining.
Old town lies along the waterfront so we walked along the edge of the harbor and saw some wooden statues, flowers, and sea gulls.
After old town we drove up to an area overlooking the ocean.
It was pretty foggy, but we could still see and hear the surf.
Next we went to the Coquille (Co-keel) River Lighthouse. This lighthouse, built in 1839, guided ships across the shallow bar at the mouth of the Coquille River until 1939 when it was replaced by an automatic becon located on the South Jetty. This is one of eight lighthouses that still exist on the coast of Oregon. It was restored in 1978.
Our last stop was down on the beach where there was a pretty little waterfall.
Here I got to . . .
After a busy day exploring old town and the harbor, and then playing on the beach, I was really bushed! So I streatched out and took a nice long nap on the ride back to grandma and grandpas.
