Courthouse and Jail Rocks were a famous landmark along the Oregon Trail. Many travelers described them as a castle. They rise 400 feet above the North Platte River Valley floor.
Chimney Rock
Chimney rock was another famous landmark on the Oregon Trail. It stands nearly 300 feet above the North Platte River Valley floor.
Chimney Rock has a visitor center, but we were there early in the morning and it wasn't open.
